Investment Thesis
MAKR Venture Fund I targets early-stage investments in AI infrastructure, autonomous systems, and enterprise middleware. The fund focuses on companies building foundational technology layers that sit between frontier models and production deployment, a segment where technical depth creates durable competitive advantage.
The thesis rests on three structural observations:
- Frontier model capabilities are commoditizing; orchestration and deployment infrastructure are not
- Enterprise adoption of AI agents requires compliance, audit, and governance tooling that incumbents have not built
- The transition from single-model to multi-agent architectures creates a new infrastructure category with limited competition

Portfolio Construction
Sector allocation
The fund allocates across three verticals, weighted toward infrastructure plays that benefit from long-term platform lock-in.
- Agent Infrastructure (40%) -- orchestration, memory, evaluation, and deployment systems for autonomous AI agents
- Enterprise AI Middleware (35%) -- compliance tooling, data governance, and integration layers for regulated industries
- Applied AI Systems (25%) -- domain-specific AI applications in financial services, legal, and healthcare
Stage focus
The fund targets pre-seed through seed-stage companies. Typical entry point: post-prototype, pre-revenue, with demonstrated technical differentiation and at least one design partner in a regulated industry.
Team
The general partner team combines operating experience in AI infrastructure with institutional investment backgrounds. The founding GP has served as Chief Strategy Officer at a frontier AI company and Managing Partner at a seed-stage venture firm, with direct experience in fund formation, portfolio construction, and LP reporting.
Advisory network
The fund maintains a curated advisory board of 8 domain experts spanning enterprise AI, financial regulation, and fund administration. Advisors provide deal flow, technical diligence support, and portfolio company guidance on a retained basis.
